How to use “Form Conversion as a Marketing Strategy”?

Marketing strategies come in all types sizes and ways, we believe marketing strategies center around providing more leads (which should become conversions or sales) to your organization.  Form conversion is where visitors or leads complete your organization’s digital platform form.  Generally, we do not view contact us forms within this description.  But your organization’s digital platform can use the same techniques with regards to your organization’s digital platform contact us form or page. We have explained the importance of the contact us page.

Some design elements to consider when creating your organization’s digital platform form.  The form should be very consistent and displayed on all pages.  If your form is a pop-up form, then once it is disabled by your visitor or lead.  The form should not pop up again. The form should have a strong color contrast in the design.  Do not make the visitor or lead think if it is a form or not, and should they fill it out.  To reduce the number of optional fields, we would recommend a short form.  If your organization’s digital platform has a long form, then consider a multi-steps or multi-page form.  All forms should have an automatic response, that is personal with a warm greeting attached. Lastly,  avoid misleading call-to-action forms.  If your form states your organization is going to provide a free e-book in exchange for the visitors’ or leads’ email, then once that visitor or lead provides their email, your organization needs to send out the e-book.

Tips

Some tips for creating high-converting forms.  Make sure your organization’s digital platform is measuring analytics on the form, and page. As stated earlier, set up an automatic response to all completed forms.  The response should encourage the visitor or lead to return to your organization’s digital platform.  Your organization’s digital platform form response should also enable visitors to order online (e-commerce sites), and/or allow the visitor or lead to join an email capture list.

A/B Testing

We always recommend A/B Testing.  It is one of the most effective ways to measure analytics on your forms and pages. Using a good call-to-action copy is very important for measuring A/B Testing.  Focus on your user experience in the design process, while making sure your form has a conversational style format.  Instead of location, your organization’s digital platform could state “Your mailing address is…”.
