Why should your organization track marketing metrics?  The obvious answer is to make sure your organization’s marketing campaigns are aligned with the goals of the campaign. We believe it is a lot more complicated than that, and this is the reason why we recommend tracking marketing metrics to our clients.

Impact

Measuring the impact of your marketing efforts.  We recommend using A/B Testing.  Your organization should know all the data, and using some form of analytic tool would be strongly recommended.  The impact of the marketing metrics is critical to whether your marketing strategy is successful or needs to be tweaked in a few areas.  Not having an analytic tool associated with your organization’s marketing campaign is a recipe for confusion.

Refine

Refining your organization’s marketing campaign is a given. Your organization is not going to hit it out of the park on its first try. Your organization’s marketing campaign is going to be tweaked and re-tweaked, wording is going to be changed. However the goal of the campaign is not going to change, just how your organization’s visitors’ behavior is going to be visited and revisited.

Budget

Make better use of your organization’s marketing budget.  Most organizations do not have an open check for marketing.  Being a good steward is critical to the success of your organization. We work hard on being a good steward and working, tweaking, and measuring to make sure your organization’s goals are met. Actually hitting the goals is not the goal, but exceeding the goals should be the bar that your organization is attempting to reach.

Target Audience

Better understanding of your organization’s target audience. Every client that feels like it knows its target audience, has no clue about their target audience. The only way your organization knows its target audience is by conducting quarterly marketing campaigns to find out who, and what is interested in your organization’s marketing campaign. In some cases, this data will change on a campaign-to-campaign basis. So the long and short is most organization do not know their actual target audience.
