My two month report card.
At the end of 2017, my focus on business was not in the space which I wanted it to be. I was not doing the things, which made me successful. Reading a good book monthly, was not happening. Writing a couple of blog posting weekly, was not happening. Podcast once a week, was not happening. So have I changed my old ways…

BLOG
This is my fifteen (15) blog post in 2018. An average of about twice a week. I would like to do about 3 a week, maybe on Monday – Wednesday – Friday. Leaning on maybe discussing favorite plugins or services on one day, book reviews on another, entrepreneur related experience on one day, inspirational stories on another, and maybe even discuss some of my conversations with my business mentor (who has given me the okay…as long as his name is not mentioned).
While I am happy about the number, I know that more post can be created. I have been working on Gutenberg, the upcoming WordPress Editor. The need to introduce my thoughts about the new editor and how it is going to effect or not effect the WordPress community, would be a good post.
Mentoring a neophyte (junior designer), always provides me with some good content. The stories do not change, on the hands on my watch…the neophyte has questions about securing new clients, design process, what is a good and bad client, how do you stay in business past today, etc. I need to share my experiences.
Podcast
A few years at a MeetUp, I was introduced to podcast. I feel in love and went out an purchased a Blue Yeti. The MeetUp guest speaker was Stefanie Diaz, founder of Mastermind Your Launch and Women Only Entrepreneurs. Last year, I had a grand total on one podcast. I wanted my podcast to be perfect. Many seasoned podcaster would later explain to me…just do it! You will get better over time. My audio skills are terrible, but my content is on point. I have made five (5) podcast this year. I post them on Mondays…you can check them out at JDS WebDesign (biz).
Reading
This is my proudest accomplishment. I have read four books in 2018. I read Steve Harvey’s “Act like a Success, Think like a Success”, Mike Michalowicz’s “Profit First”, Chris Coleman’s “The Green Banana Papers”, and Aubrey Daniels’ “Bringing Out The Best in People.”. I love to read! Feeling really proud to have completed two books in January and February.
