Restrict Content Pro
In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing. Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly. We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.
Last weeks, we discuss MemberPress. And we clearly stated (at the present time) it was our favorite membership plugin. Well as faith would have it, many of our subscribers wanted us to review a couple of other membership plugins. While MembersPress is our favorite go to at the present time. We have decided to review Restrict Content Pro .
With fairness, we have had to used just about all of them. All of them have pros and cons. S2 Membership used to be our favorite. And we still use it on some of my sites. However, Restrict Content Pro is what we will be reviewing today.
There are five (5) area to review with regards to a membership plugin. Cost. Ease of Use. Built in Integrations. Payment Gateway(s). Support.
Cost
Restrict Content Pro has four levels of payment.
Ultimate which is $499 for lifetime. It comes with the following features…11 Pro Add-ons, 12 Official Free Add-ons, Lifetime Updates, Lifetime Supports, and Unlimited Sites.
Professional which is $249 annually. It comes with the following features…11 Pro Add-ons, 12 Official Free Add-ons, Plugin Updates, Email Supports, and Unlimited Sites.
Plus which is $149 annually. It comes with the following features…12 Official Free Add-ons, Plugin Updates, Email Supports, and 5 sites.
Personal is $99 annually. It comes with the following features…12 Official Free Add-ons, Plugin Updates, Email Supports, and 1 site.
Restrict Content Pro is very costly with regards to membership plugins. You will find most around the $99 range, but that is probably it’s only negative.
Ease of Use
Because Restrict Content Pro integrates with WordPress, it will give you controls on each page. You can select which pages are secured, and which are not secure. Check out the image below…
Built in Integration
The eleven (11) Pro Add-ons include the following: Group Account, WooCommerce Members Discount, Drip Content, Custom Redirects, Site Creation, Restriction Timeout, Restrict Past Content, Hard-set Expiration Date, Help Scout, Rest API, and Math Verification.
The twelve (12) Official Add-ons include the following: Affiliate WP, MailChimp, WP Job Manager, Easy Digital Download (EDD) FES Vendor Limits, EDD Member Downloads, EDD Member Discounts, EDD Wallet, Limited Quantity Available, Download Monitor, Campaign Monitor, MailPoet Add-on, bbpress, CSV User Import, and Enforce Strong Passwords.
There is about 10 other 3rd party add-ons, which were developed by others. Some are free and others are premium (paid), which is amazing. You have developers getting some cash flow from their add-ons.
Payment Gateways
Restrict Content Pro offers the following free add-ons: Stripe, PayPal, and Braintree. It supports the following payment gateways: Alipay, 2Checkout, PayPal Website Payments Pro, PayPal Express, and Stripe Checkout.
Support
Support is a main advantage for Restrict Content Pro. However, at the premium price, you would expect the support to be Grade A.
We do have a good example of how support is excellent. Last year as we were attending WordCamp US. We received an email from a client regarding an issue with their membership plugin, Restrict Content Pro. We submitting an support ticket, and we received a response within about 15 minutes from Pippin. Pippin was about 10 feet in front us at the time. We walked over and introduce ourselves. It took about 10 minutes to fix the problem. Now that is some AWESOME Support !!!
