Online Donation has reduced

In the midst of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign hope everyone is safe, washing their hands frequently, sneezing and coughing on their elbow, and practicing social distancing.  Over the next several weeks, we plan on blogging about making your website more business-friendly.  We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.

Since the pandemic has slowed down, and in most cases, ended.  Your organization’s online donations have slowed down or the amount is reduced. Take a breath.  It is going to be okay.  Have you viewed three elements, which could explain the reduction in revenue for your organization?

Core Membership

Your core membership has returned. The physical donations have increased because your membership is writing checks instead of paying online.  We are not a huge opponent of keeping physical and online donations separate.  Make sure your donation amounts have not just shifted to how the amount of money is collected and where the donations are being collected. If your physical donations have increased, then we would strongly encourage your organization to implore members to send donations online. This will eliminate the missed donations because someone was not present or able to make a physical donation. Your organization should encourage recurring donations.  It’s an easy process for you and your members.

Uncreative Services

Has your organization become stale? Does your organization offer weekly, or bi-weekly events and solicit donations for the events? Does your organization think outside the box and look to grow outside of your neighborhood, if this has occurred because of the pandemic, then your organization is going to have to continue to meet the membership outside of your zipcode’s needs.  Think about a possible mobile application, to present push notifications for upcoming events, and allow recurring donations to be made.  Remember that technology is not just for millennials, many generation x are comfortable using technology. Do not forget about social media platforms to grow your organization.  Your creativity has no limits.  Growing your organization will allow your donations to grow as well.

Personal touch

Personal touch.  Separate yourself from others. Try to stay away from services-only videos, video events, and testimonials videos. Showcase everything that your organization is attempting to accomplish.  Show your success stories. Show your attempts. Explain how your member’s donation can affect someone in their community. Make all your ministries personal. Become very transparent. Invite new members into ministries. Do not forget your new and young members. Get everyone involved.  This is how you can grow your organization and donations at the same time.

Conclusion

Do you have an analytic report with regard to your donations?  Where are the donations coming from and when are they being made?  Who is making your donations?  Make sure that your organization is staying in constant communication with your membership.  Showcase your donation, set goals, celebrate wins, explain losses, and enjoy the ride.  If you need someone to assist your organization with growing your donations, then feel free to reach out to us at info@jdswebdesign.biz or 678-718-5489.
