What are our Goal-Driven Strategies?

The other day, someone sent us a direct message about our “Goals” blog post. Initially, the questions centered on why we did not report our progress and/or success or failure report.  The blog post was about everything that occurred during my daily preparation to run a successful agency.  Nothing more or less. It has been almost a year since that post was created. Many things have changed, and the pandemic is almost a distant memory. We are in the middle of a recession. Many clients realize that survival means how much energy is placed into their digital presence. My agency has several more services and products, which we offer to exist and new clients.  We offer Accessible, and Mobile applications for our services. We are not just building websites, but creating search engine optimization plans, marketing strategies, and social media plans.

So how are we, or better yet, am I staying goal-driven?  I use seven basic principles:

Write it down

Write it down. Every new product or service needs to be written down.  Make sure you are using the SMART Method. I use these for every goal, Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timebound Goals. This is an awesome way to track all new visions and goals. My goals are never about adding one more client, but my goal would exist of growing my agency by 5 new clients monthly. I would place measures in place to advertise my new services to my target audience. I would make sure the goals are attainable and timely.

Create a plan

If you do not have a plan, then your plan is to fail. Create a plan. Makes sure your plan is flexible. There could be variables that you did not anticipate.  Work on your plan on a daily basis. Create a long-term posture and do not worry about short-term failures. Learn from them, adjust, and keep working toward your goal.

Track my plan

One of the important reasons for writing down your goal is to track it. You have to make sure that your plan is working and be flexible to move in other directions. This does not mean that you have given up on your plan, but that something could come up that you did not anticipate. Be very light on your feet and ready to move in another direction.

Accountable

Hold yourself accountable. Not for the success or failure of the project, but for the execution of the project. You need to keep grinding. Most great ideas never come to completion, because someone gives up prior to finding success. Keep working on your goal.

Habits

Your ultimate goal is to create new habits. This habit should be about obtaining new goals and working hard toward these new goals. One of the habits that you are creating is to become more goal-driven. Success follows being goal-driven.

Keep Journal

Write down everything. Write on a daily basis. Write your success and failures. Make sure you document, what marketing strategies worked and which ones did not.  Do certain social media platforms provide more exposure than others, write it down. Now you know where to advertise. Did you get more exposure on certain days or at certain times? Write it down, now you know which day and time to publish an advertisement.

Visualization

You have to visualize the outcome and your success. Claim your success and visualize what that success is going to look like. Keep a positive mindset, and remember to keep a journal. Eliminate negative thoughts, using your journal and the principle of gratitude. Keep everything positive and true growth will happen.
