In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing. Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly. We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.
We lost out on a branding project, because we did not explain the basis of branding. Just because you have a call to action button on your home page, does not mean you understand branding. The button should be a measurable behavior for a specific (or target) audience. Not being able to explain branding basis to a prospective client, was our downfall.
So what are branding basis?
Brand Awareness, Competitive Advantage, Media Visibility, Website Traffic, Client Engagement, and Leads and Conversion…the basis of branding.
Brand Awareness. Does your brand play a role in all your companies decision? Do you have a mission statement? How are you going to be in business tomorrow, next month, next year, five years, etc from now?
Studying your competitors. Do you share the same target audience? Can you have different target audience with the same industry? If your competitor moves to another lane or avenue of revenue, then do you have to make the same moves? Are you a follower or leader?
Social Media. Do you have a social media page? Are you attending industry events? Do you know industry leaders? Are you an industry leader? Do you offer services to inexperience competitors? Are you a seeker of opportunities or do you just wait for something to happen?
How many visitors came to your site (yesterday, last week, last month, last year)? What does your website do to create engagement? Would you come back to your site? Is your site growing it’s organic following?
Does your brand make client’s want to come back for additional services? Are you a chaser of projects or clients? Projects come and go…some have clients, which are not your type of client. Clients have been vetted…problems are discovery every day. Be the solution for your client’s issue…will help to established client engagement.
Leads and Conversion
Are you measuring leads versus conversion? Which is more important…leads or conversion? Leads offer opportunities to sharpen your saw and grow business. Conversion lead to more work.
