Why Should Church Websites blog?
In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing. Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly. We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.
Reason why church websites should blog is similar to why any website should blog. It is the most effective tool to gain traction. Traction to connect with your target audience, traction to gain more revenue, traction to place your organization in front of more potential visitors, who are thirty to find a church home to satisfied their thirst.
So let discuss three reasons why church websites, should have a blog.
Perfect Communication Tool
While most of us, would prefer to view a sermon on youtube or vimeo. The ability to showcase your position on certain issues, while being an engaging and inviting organization is huge. Many visitors struggle with how certain issues are viewed and a blog will provide the platform to outline your faith and beliefs. While also allowing your church to express its faith.
Blogging allows the personality of your leadership to be displaced. If your senior pastor is funny, then his blog post should display his sense of humor. If an elder has a good grasp of historical facts, then allow her to showcase events of today and yesterday. If a leader in your organization is full of compassion, then allow that nurturing feeling to be overflowing.
Blogging can really help to answer questions, without necessary having to ask the questions.
Credibility
While blogging is about creating a short (and sometime long) post, it can also be used to display a church’s position on a controversy issue. It can be used to discuss the church’s views. If you have a certain belief, then changes are most of us know them. But this is a forum in which you can discuss why you believe this way.
SEO Ranking
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Ranking is effective by the number of visitors to your site. Blogging platforms allow you to engage and have visitors come back. SEO ranking is effective by the number of visitors to your site.
Your ranking will improve over other websites with little to no traffic. Ranking matters…you want to be on the first page and not the tenth page. One of the ways to accomplish improving your ranking is with blogging and providing engaging and important information.
