Why I love WordPress and WordCamps?
Why I love WordPress and WordCamps? I have just got home from WordCamp Atlanta 2016. I am sorting my backpack and checking out my new t-shirts. I am a jean and t-shirt (type of ) guy. I love the WordCamp Atlanta 2016 Grey T-Shirt, but I like my Blue Host (Blue Shirt), Code Guard (Green Shirt), and WordCamp Atlanta 2016 Volunteer (Purple Shirt). I am looking over some information from Click Host (I attend a MeetUp,which Click Host sponsors). I am looking a building a relationship with them for several of my shared and manage wordpress clients. I am looking at some information from Code Guard and their new plugin. I have some free hosting coupons from GoDaddy. Yes I am a little overwhelmed.
WordCamps Swag is not why I love WordCamp or WordPress!
I met some really great people. Brad, who works at GoWP. Brad was the supervisor for volunteer. Brad was awesome. We discussed business and opportunities. We passed out T-Shirts over the weekends. In a future blog posting, I will discuss some interesting stories.
I worked in the happiness bar. The happiness bar is where you can get some help on your wordpress site. Not sure, why I was helping (as I have only been working with WordPress for about four (4) years). I was able to help someone with a faith based site. She wanted to add soundcloud plugin to her site. I have done that many times in the past. I could not believe how “Thankful”, she was… I was able to discuss my marketing strategy to another newbie. I pointed out some ways in which, she could market her site. I discuss KLT. Getting clients to KNOW (your products/services), getting clients to LIKE (your products/services), and getting clients to TRUST (your products/services). Lastly, I help a photography with some slider problems.
I meet some really cool people in the WordPress Community. I was able to discuss some of my business challenges. I was able to get some information on possible solutions. I was able to share stories with designers and developers. Funny how we had some similar stories.
Why I love WordPress and WordCamps?
It is a good opportunity at a reasonable cost ($40.00, which included Lunch on both days..parking was $5/day) to meet several wordpress designers, search engine optimization experts, developers, small business owners, hosting companies, plugin designers, and bloggers. We are able to share good and bad stories (Networking is incredible). WordCamp allows wordpress designer/developers and business owners an venue to network and build long term relationship. I am looking forward to attending at least two (2) or three (3) more WordCamps this year!
