What are your favorite plugins?
In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing. Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly. We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.
A few weeks ago, while attending a local meetup about “What are your favorite plugins?”. That is really a difficult questions because it really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Many designer and developers offered their favorite ones, but for us we uses most of them. Knowing some awesome ones for e commerce, membership sites, gallery, audio and video feeds, social media sharing, and forms. Other wordpress designers and developers jumped into the conversations and said the obvious [if your in the wordpress world] “Akismet, Word Fence, Yoast SEO, All SEO, JetPack and Contact Form 7″. Beginning to think, ” I’m over-thinking that question!!!”. What are your favorite plugins?
So what are our favorite plugins?
Well over the next several months, we are going to bring back our plugin of the week (or maybe month) and write the pros and cons of some of our favorite plugins. These blog post are not going to label them favorite or non favorite. Really that is not the answer to the question, we will only discuss plugins, which we have used, and how they assist us in solving a pain point. Some plugins have meet our needs and goals, while others plugins have not. Purchasing plugins is not an issue, so we will not be discussing how to get the free plugins or why you should not pay for a premium plugin. Sometimes you will have to pay for the solution to solve your pain point, bottom line. We actually prefer for plugins to have a cost associated with them, then we typically can expect solid support, or someone to contact if any question or issues arises.
Our favorite plugin research
We are searching the wordpress depository on a daily basis. Loving to hear about others experiences. It is interesting to see if the developer or developer team will answer tough questions. Most of the answers, lead to the free version is not equip for that functionality. Which goes back to my original statement, we like premium plugins.
Having decided to not pick just favorites, we are just going to discuss plugins in general. If you have a favorite, or would like us to review a plugin, then just place it in the comment section.
How are the favorite plugin post going to look like?
It will probably be a small introduction. We will give our reason for getting the plugin. Providing some some information on how many times, which we have used the plugin. Remember it might be a first time for us. We will provide problems that we have had to over come. And we will provide our results
