Podcast 101

*We created this post five (5) years ago, and it quickly fizzled out. We are again launching a podcast that will be about our Founder/CEO, Daniel Swain. We are planning on launching our 1st episode on Monday, October 2, 2023. We are planning on having two podcasts a week. We are planning on creating a blog post about our journey as podcasters and looking at possibly having some interviews later. Especially if we can interview some of our clients, to discuss our process and how it has helped their organization.

My podcast is less than a week from launching. Some have wondered what tools and technology am I using, so I have decided to do a podcast 101. Hopefully, I will answer all your questions. What is a podcast? A podcast is an audio show that is distributed to various audio players for streaming or download. There are many platforms on which you can listen to or download a podcast.

How do podcasts differ? Niche and idea are the major differences between podcasts. My niche is to speak on what my day-to-day looks like and how I generate business. This is what I absolutely love to do so that only makes sense.

What tools am I using? Microphone – Blue Yeti and Audacity, which is a free tool to audit my podcast. Audacity does take a little work to get good at editing your audio, but there are many free resources online. Lastly, I use Podbean, as my podcast hosting. There are many popular podcast hosting platforms, I just like Podbean. I will probably do a blog post on why I like Podbean later. Image courtesy of Jonathan Farber.
