Overview WordCamp Atlanta 2017

Every year I step up a little more to the plate.  At WordCamp 2015, I was a participant.  I meet a lot of designers, developers, and local business owners.  At WordCamp 2016, I was a volunteer.  I handed out t-shirts and was the air traffic controller (bathrooms on your left, happiness bar on the right, lunch is down the hall, that presentation in upstairs, they are in the ball room, etc.)  At WordCamp 2017, I was an Volunteer Organizer.  Brad Morrison, owner of  GoWP was the lead, but I did a lot of the grunge work.  It was AWESOME.

WordCamp Atlanta Key note speaker was Troy Dean, owner of WP Elevation . Troy gave an outstanding Key note speech.  He discussed his humble beginnings. He discuss how, he worked to grow his organization.  He was funny and witty.  He was very knowledgeable.  He was genuine.

WordCamp Atlanta had some outstanding sponsors.  GoDaddy was in the house.  I love Godaddy and their continue support to WordPress and WordCamp.  Siteground was in the house.  Siteground is my favorite hosting company.  I was able to talk shop with Siteground and pick up some colorful socks. Blue Host was in the house.  Blue Host gave away a 55 inch television and iPad.  Sitelock was in the house.  They was giving all the latest about security and how to protect your site.  GoWP was in the house. They was offering support and maintenance for you site. And MrTechnique was in the house.  He was give Search Engine Optimization (SEO) pointers.  Their site is on the First (1st ) page of Google, when you search for SEO in Atlanta.

WordCamp Atlanta has some huge party people.  The after party was held at The Gathering Spot.  It was a nice change of pace.  A in and out resturant / bar.  The WordCamp Atlanta folks open up several garage doors and participants eat inside the bar and watch some NCAA basketball tournament games, while others hung outside and networked.  Such a great concept and very relaxing environment.

I can not wait for WordCamp Atlanta 2018….
