What are Non-Payment Donors?
We are constantly telling our clients never to leave any potential opportunity uncovered. There is something called a non-payment donor, and most established or successful organizations have many of them. We typically called them volunteers. Volunteers are super important to your organization’s success and growth. Many organizations do not have a plan in place on how to recruit and find volunteers. It is like a game of who they know. And in some cases, volunteers are just a group of folks, who are not able to make consistent donations. They exchange their time of donations for the organization. This is not a wrong way to grow your organization, but there are other marketing strategies.
How to find volunteers?
One of the ways to locate volunteers is to place a blog on your social media platforms. Tell your story and who your organization is looking for to join and assist with an upcoming event or daily staffing task. Another way is to place an email capture pop-up, asking potential volunteers to sign up. Link the emails to a newsletter, with a full calendar of events and ways in which volunteers make the organization grow. Acknowledge your volunteers and provide a section of praise. Remember your organization’s volunteers are a free way to grow. Place a field on your donation form, seeking volunteers. There is nothing that says if you donate, then volunteers are out. Make sure your organizations have the link very obviously, and send an email to past donors to see if they would be interested in volunteering.
Follow up
Follow-up. Follow-up. Then, follow up again. Set up a Zoom or in-person meeting. This meeting should be very similar to a job interview. Set the meeting up into three phases. In the first part of the meeting, your organization’s story should be told. It can be the long or short version. Next, your organization should have a few testimonials from clients. Tell how your organization is making a difference and how your organization is super excited that the volunteers would like to be a part of your story. Allow your potential volunteers to tell their stories. If you have a short video, then play it for your potential volunteers. Make sure your organization explains the volunteer program. The dos and don’ts.
Remember
Remember volunteers can become donors, or at least tell their inner circle about your organization to explain your donor’s fields. Volunteers can share your social media post with their followers. Your volunteers can do the out-layer task to clear up some of your organization’s time. Volunteers are awesome non-payment donors. In conclusion, we can help your organization grow its volunteering community. If your organization is seeking some help, then feel free to contact us at info@jdswebdesign.biz or 678-718-5489.
