The new way to say “Thank You” for Non-Profits Organizations, is really the old way to show appreciation to a donor, volunteer, or newly elected board member for your organization. Follow-up

Follow-up emails are the easiest and least effective communication form. These are better than nothing at all. Your organization has to be careful about personal calls, as sometimes they lead to lengthy conversations. These calls should come from your organization’s top officer, as some other information might be asked and the organization’s position should be stated.

Updates

Share updates on the progress of the project, and keep the updates positive.  Do not post or email daily updates.  These updates should go out when the project has hit the goal.  These updates should be shared when the campaign concludes. If your organization does not meet its goals, then your updates should thank everyone and discuss how their donations are going to affect members of your organization. Showcase personal stories.

Communicate

Communicate beyond an ask. Send out emails of thanks, with no mention or links toward any ask or donation. These forms of communication should be to showcase appreciation for all kinds of support. Discuss how volunteers have shaped your organization, what board members are doing on a regular basis, and how donations have shaped an individual’s or family’s life. Short videos are perfect forms of communication for these types of gratitude.

Appreciation Events

Appreciation events should be a part of all campaigns. These are super fun and really showcase the ultimate “thank you” for everyone involved in your organization’s campaign. These do not have to be complicated events, a Zoom dancing meeting.  A game hour of relaxation and conversation. Something that showcases everyone in light and relaxing elements. The goal is to assist in growing your organization’s community. Allow your organization’s community to invite guests and showcase how your organization is very appreciative of everyone. Showcase families. Showcase volunteers. Showcase staff members. Showcase your organization.
