Marketing

In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing.  Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly.  We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.

Brand Marketing, my second leg of JDS WebDesign, is essential to creating a successful project. As I have stated in the past, I used the KLT Marketing Strategy.  K is for KNOW. The first step is getting visitors to know, who you are?  L is for LIKE.  The second step is getting visitors to like, who you are? T is for TRUST.  The last step is getting visitors to trust, who you are?

Last week, I had a conference call with one of my clients, business has been slow.  He wanted me to introduce  KLT Marketing Strategy.  I had a few questions prior to conducting a marketing strategy.  Do you know…who your customer are? What services are you offering? How are you selling your products/services? What kind of relationship do you have with your clients? How much do you expect to earn? What is your marketing budget?

Who are your customers?

Your customers are not everyone, who visits your site. Your customers are visitors, who need your services.  Your customers have been looking for, or will be looking for your service/products?  Your customers are looking for an expert in your field. Remember you are the expert!!!

What are you offering?

What are you good at? Which product/services do you have a passion for..?  Do not look at which products or services give you the biggest bang for the buck.  Money does not related to passion. You will need to select the services that you are passionate about, and could be classified as an expert regarding them.

How are you selling your products/services?

All web sites are offering either a service or product.  Most do not sell products, but give information about services.  If you are going to be selling products, then you will need to educate yourself on inventory, payment gateways, shipping (if physical product), and taxes.

What kind of relationship will you have?

Do you want to offer recurring services?  If so, then you are going to have an ongoing relationship with your customers. You will need to offer services to assist your clients.  You are going to make sure that all issues, become solutions and services offered to your existing and new clients.

How much do I expect to earn?

Nothing kills a business than a lack of a business plan, you can not mix personal and business funds.  I have turned down many projects, when it becomes apparent that the owner is using their personal money and are clueless to how to operate a business.  And sadly, they do not want to listen to advise.  Once you have establish a budget, then you need to clearly state the amount need to be success.

What is your marketing budget?

This is very similar to the above information.  You need to establish a marketing budget. This should come from revenues from your business and not personal money.

Once you have establish those, then you can contact me for help with your Marketing Strategy.
