Introducing KLT

In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing.  Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly.  We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.

So what is KLT?

We talk a lot about KLT.  What is KLT.  It is a marketing tool, in which you develop a long term relationship with your target audience or potential clients.  We have been using KLT for the past 5 or 6 years, with several success stories.  So what is KLT?  It is Know, Like, and Trust Marketing process.  Yes, it is three marketing campaigns rolled into one.

Why do you need three marketing campaigns to accomplish one goal.  Very simple, you have a lot of competitors.  Your target audience needs to be introduce to who you are,  they should get a change to like you, and lastly they need to be able to trust you.  It is very similar to dating someone special.  There is an introduction moment,  a period where you think you like your new friend, and finally a time in which you trust being around your new friend.  Just look at KLT in the same way as you courted (do people still do that…) your significant other.

KNOW

So how do you get visitors to KNOW you.  We  generally will use a social media platform, but not always…sometimes an organic search engine optimized campaign can bring some good results. Also, do not forget that pay per click campaigns are a good ways to introduce yourself to your target audience.

We have used Know campaign to introduce our services to a specific client.  Do not not offer free items, nor give out anything of value.  This is the campaign to introduce yourself and offer small information about how you can help solve your target audience pain points.   Email captures, call to action, and drip campaigns are good KNOW campaign and can really assist you with your introduction to a prospective client.

LIKE

Secondly, you want your prospective clients to Like your products or services. How do you do that (get someone to like your products or services).  You offer them free stuff or information, which they are looking for.  Help to ease a small pain point.  If you have captured emails during the know stage, then you can send them an ebook, small video clip, and/or create a blog post on how to eliminate a pain point.  Discussing anything that you are passionate about is always a good like campaign.

TRUST

Lastly, you want your prospective clients to TRUST you and your brand.  So how do you do that?  There are several steps, we would recommend that you offer one of your services at a discount price and explain the benefits of your services to your target audience.  How this services can eliminate a pain point?

Remember that KLT Marketing campaign are not a one day, week, or month process.  These campaigns can take months, however the time invested in them is invaluable.  You will create a relationship with future clients and these relationships will be long term for so many reason.  Your target audience know who you are,  like who you are, and trust (your expertise) and brand.
