How to blog daily?
In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing. Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly. We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.
We use to blog on a daily basis. It was a taxing route and like most poor planning lead us to blogging two or three times a week. But how do the successful website and brand development agencies blog on a daily basis. Reaching out to a couple of friends, three strategies were consistently stated. SCHEDULE! GUEST BLOGGERS! BLOGGER ON STAFF!
Schedule
Most success daily bloggers, use some form of a scheduling tool. Even if the tool is the publish tool in WordPress. They will use tools such as CoSchedule and Hootsuite. Instead of creating one blog post, write a couple of blog posts. One agency owner admitted that every afternoon…all he did was create blog posts. Typically he would write a couple of blog post, so he was able to have a lot of content to post. If something came up and he was not able to write a blog post, then it was fine..he had a weeks worth or more of blog post waiting to be sent out.
Invite Guest Bloggers
This should read invite “the right” guest blogger. Remember your target audience. Guest bloggers should present content, which is relevant to your audience. Not a huge fan of free guest bloggers, you should offer compensation or at least some of your services/products. Also allow the guest blogger to display back links to their website, do not allow guest bloggers to cut and paste blog post from their site to your.
You can find guest bloggers in your community. Some agency owners have had clients to create blog post, and not blog post about how great the agency was/is…blog post about issues surrounding that client. Remember your target audience.
Hire a Blogger
Paying a guest blogger is similar to hiring one. However, hire a blogger who is only blogging on your site. Add the blogger to your team. Recognizes the value the blogger is adding to your team and website. While there are plenty of sites to find bloggers from job boards to local meetups, generally making sure the blogger understands your target audience is huge. Your expectations…length of blog post, schedule cycle, tone, and keywords are very important.
