Why you need to hit the PAUSE Button?
Last month, I hit the pause button. I did not attend any schedule WordPress Meetups, visit my local watering hole (coffee shop), check out my local bookstore, or have any client discussions (usually on Tuesday). I took a pause with regards to business. It was vacation time.
Relaxation
Our family vacation consisted of a trip to Kansas City, Missouri. Because of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Allstar Weekend, we did not get a chance to catch a Kansas City Royals game. My oldest son was not a happy camper, but we did scheduled to visit Kauffman Stadium. Something happen…we never made it to the Stadium. I am not sure if we ate too much barbecue, tired from visiting Museums (went to Negro League Baseball Museum, Science Center at Union Station, and National World War I Museum), or visit to the water park.
My girls were the trip planners, so it was a fun and educational visit.
Work
I have a couple of launch at the end of this month. A quick call and assessment was needed.
My start up company redesign project, which is in the build out stages. Awesome client to work for…the content is begin to come in. I have the shell of the design created. I was populating the content.
My dating company redesign project, which is completed. However the client wants a customized profile section. This was awesome, as I am working on this project with my developer. A quick conference call to discuss the new scopes and timelines were established.
My faith based early learning redesign project is nearing completion. This is a re-branding effort. New logos and new title…new administration. Everything is new, so the content is tricking in. A quick conference call to make sure that I was on top of my client’s expectation.
Done. Done. Done.
Why
As you can tell, I am very busy. However work and family balance is very important. While I need to continue to work to support my family. I need family time to feel inspired to work on some of my projects. It was awesome visiting Kansas City, Missouri. I would recommend it to anyone…great water park, great museums, great stadium (I did not mention Arrow Head, which is home to Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League).
The only thing bad was I did not realize St. Louis was so far. My wife went to St. Louis University, so I was going to rent a car and drive up and check out her beloved SLU. It was 3 1/2 to 4 hours away. We will just have to put Saint Louis on the college trip list.
Now it is back to life, back to reality as I hit the ground running and refreshed.
