Have you done a SWOT Analysis of your brand?

In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing.  Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly.  We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.

Have you conducted a SWOT Analysis of your brand?  Most business owners do not know a SWOT Analysis or how it can help you grow your business brand.  SWOT is strengths, weakness, opportunities, and threats. SWOT measures different types of business opportunities available. What areas of your business need an overhaul or to be jumped in another direction? Which of your competitors is an immediate threat in terms of securing future business opportunities? Let’s look at four (4) ways to analyze your brand from a SWOT perspective.

Strengths of your brand

What are your strengths?  Is it your years of experience, or do you have a passion for your industry?  Remember your brand should be a niche. Check out the reasons to have a niche business. This could be one of your strengths. How are you viewed in your niche community?  Is your company policy viewed as customer friendly?  Do you put your client’s objectives as the primary reason for the relationship?  You should know the strengths of your brand.

Weakness of your brand

Having to point out our brand weakness can be tough, some might need to get someone else to analyze their business brand.  Do you have a large staff?  Can you turn projects around in a quick manner?  Do you have staff members, who are responsible for specific tasks?  What is your onboarding process?  Is it the same with all clients?  Do you have an automatic process? How often do you review the process and make sure it is seamless for you and your clients?  Most of us do not have time to review these items, but it is very important to our brand.

How do you define opportunities?

Are you meeting with your team on a consistent basis to discuss future opportunities? Are you looking for other revenue streams?  Are you looking to grow your company and brand?  What are your revenue projections for three months, three years, and thirty years? Take time to review your brand…look for other revenue opportunities. Test them and offer them to long-term clients.  Keep looking for ways to grow your brand.

Threats

When we write threats, we are talking about competitors, who are growing their business. Competitors who are entering your niche and plucking potential clients. What are they doing?  Are they offering services that you need to be offering?  Make time to review your brand and make sure that you are turning these potential threats into opportunities.
