Giving my clients what they want…

In the midst of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign hope everyone is safe, washing their hands frequently, sneezing and coughing on their elbow, and practicing social distancing.  Over the next several weeks, we plan on blogging about making your website more business-friendly.  We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.

Last week, I had a meeting with a potential wordsmith and developer. Attending a local meetup provides an invitation to both the wordsmith and myself.  Having two projects, which are in need of some of her expertise.  Reaching out to a couple of remote specialists, to attempt to find one person just seems like a great fit.

After a cup of coffee with the wordsmith, which I meet at my local meetup.  We hit it off really well, I love her blog.  Needing a wordsmith on a huge project, I reached out to her.  We finally were able to sit down and discuss the project last week.  The interesting thing was her level of excitement for my project.

So I now have a wordsmith and will outsource her on my upcoming projects.  This expertise should assist me with future launch projects and hopefully, help me to get some new projects.

Sure I can do that…

A few weeks ago, I was about to launch a project.  The client wanted me to make some custom design features on his site.  It is a buddypress project.  I looked at some of the code and quickly realized this was out of my area of expertise.  I reached out to several developers.  While there are several developers in my area, I was not able to find a good fit.  Most developers had full-time jobs and wanted to work on my projects after hours.  This process worked for me in the past, but I really want to be able to contact my developer during regular business hours.  A few developers were really new and had little to no work to showcase.

I stumbled upon a developer, with who I had worked.  He was in transit and was looking for a full-time job.  I reached out to him.  We are working out a potential agreement.  I am super excited. This is really the importance of community and staying customer/client-friendly.  Hopefully, you will keep developing your community and working hard to provide the ultimate support for your clients.
