What is Brand Strategy? Brand strategy is the plan for how your business defines, creates, and shares your values with your customers. Brand strategy is essential to all businesses, but it is especially critical to your digital platform. Many organizations have confusing brand strategies, while they have one thing in their value or mission statement. Nothing is provided to support the mission statement regarding events or blog posting. It is very important to keep your mission and value statement at the forefront of all your activity and content on your digital platform.
The four tips for the brand strategy for non-profit organizations are meeting customers’ needs and desires, maintaining consistency, understanding customers’ emotions, and analyzing your competitors’ brands.
Customer Needs
Non-profit organizations’ digital platforms should be focused on customer loyalty. It is easier to work with existing customers than to keep looking for new ones. Remember your existing customers can serve as recruiters for your organization. One of your brand strategies should consist of finding customers’ pain points and providing solutions. Review your google analytics (the report that shows the number of visitors and which pages are they looking at) to understand what is important to your existing and potential customers. Make sure that you continue to create content for similar posts, or create events that will assist in pain point areas for your customers.
Consistency
Have just one logo and place it on your website, and all social media platforms. Create a brand guideline to establish the tone for content, and placement of social media platforms. Use social media platforms, which are free marketing, and can be very engaging with your customers. Maintain a consistent commitment to a set of values, which should be in your mission or value statement. Every event and blog post should center around your mission or value statement.
Customer Emotion
Tap into your customers’ emotions, and use those emotions to leverage customers to your brand. Your about us page should be in a friendly and conversational tone, which should make your customers feel like your organization is since of your brand’s mission and value statement. Align your digital platform with your customers’ values.
Competitors Brand
Make an effort to grow your business in areas, where your competitor is lacking. Do a competitive analysis? This can show your digital platforms areas of improvement. Visit your competitors’ websites and social media platforms. Are you posting as much as your competitors? Are your getting traffic from your blog posts? How do your events stack up to your competitors? These are all relevant questions and should be a daily reminder.
