Faith Based Organization Keys to Leadership
In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing. Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly. We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.
These keys can apply to any organization, faith based and/or non profit. While they appear to be simple strategies, with the pandemic, they are very important and critical strategies. We have just went through a period of time, where we could not meet. We could not hug. We could not shake hands. We could not look a person in his or her eyes. It was zoom call now, and zoom call later. Leadership has never been so important. But a new and somewhat different leadership is needed today.
It is human nature to have excuses for missing targets. With the pandemic, your excuses now have a foundation. It is up to leadership to not allow the pandemic become the foundation of the organization. While you need to acknowledge the pandemic, and think outside of the box for solutions and process. Pivot Quickly
Many organizations have had to pivot quickly. How they meet? How they discuss their missions? How they keep everyone motivation? Staying light on your feet, is more than a saying. For some organization, it became a new item on their mission and value statement. The ability to pivot and move in another direction to come up with a solution was critical to survival.
Compartmentalize Strategically
Lean on your team to compartmentalize all potential issues. Hold team think sessions. Find out what your team’s fears are? How can you relieve some of the pressure? What are your client’s thinking about? How can you create solutions in the pandemic? Are you keeping the communication lines open? Making sure that everyone knows or realizes their roles. Leadership was never meant as a one stop shop. Feel free to pass along task to your team and allow them to come up with solutions and processes.
Reframe Loss as opportunity
All losses are not a bad thing. Some losses are truly really new opportunities. Opportunities to access your process. Opportunities to seek out new solutions. Opportunities to create new services or products. Reframe from looking at losses as a bad thing.
