What is Email Marketing 101?
Email Marketing is the best way to grow your organization. However, email marketing is challenging. Email marketing takes planning, working, reviewing, and constantly updating. This process is a marathon and not a sprint. Because this is not a quick fix, but a long-term process that will grow your organization. Most organizations do not want to invest in this process. The process will make most organizations doubt while investing in email marketing, but if the organization stays the course, the results can be outstanding.
What
What is email marketing? It is creating traffic (either paid or organic) to a landing page. On that landing page, your organization will have an opt-in form, the form will put leads into a sequence list, and begin nurturing the leads to convert them into sales, your organization will establish your authority in your industry, and finally, the lead will become a conversion.
How
How is the design process? After your organization has generated some traffic to a landing page, then your will need to make sure your landing page has four specific elements. Headline. This should be a short and catchy statement. Not too bold, but compelling. Next, your organization should have a description, a sentence or two about what your organization is promising in exchange for your potential lead’s email address. Then, your organization should have a form without a lot of friction. Our recommendation is to ask for name, and email only. Finally, your organization should have a submit button. Be creative, and use language consistent with your industry.
Why
Why would someone provide their name and email to my organization? Three reasons for the connection. Your organization’s lead generator has a relevant headline. Typically it involves a solution to a pain point. Next, your organization is providing a FOMO or Fear of Missing Out solution. No one wants to be the last to figure out an industry pain point. Lastly, your organization is very specific in the description section on what your lead is going to receive, and when they are going to receive it.
When
When your organization receives the lead’s email, then the magic begins. Your organization will need to create an email sequence. An email sequence comes in three parts, First, your organization will offer some value. Next, your organization will position it as an authority and nurture the lead. Finally, your organization will turn the lead into a conversion (client). This process can take three emails, but in most cases, your organization’s lead might receive five or more emails before moving to the conversion stages. It depends on how much time it takes to establish your organization’s authority in your industry. Stay patient, but provide a soft sale to turn a lead into a conversion. This should be done through out the process.
