In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing.  Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly.  We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.

There is no real secret to success.  Find something that you enjoy.  Surround yourself with a good supportive team.  Keep pressing the learning button to continue thriving. Find something that you enjoy do so much, that it truly does not feel like work.

Find something that you enjoy!

The ability or responsibility to help grow a brand by creating a web site is an awesome job.  As a web and brand developer, I develop relationship.  I get to hear stories from other entrepreneur about how they are growing their brand.  I get to explain new web and brand development features and functionality.

The other day, I was discuss some brand development features with a client.  I was explaining why the call to action statement was so pivotal in the development of the site.  Now I wanted to capture some emails.  I had placed an email capture on the site, and the client was offering a e-book for all new subscribers.  The client was pushing out one blog a week.  I was going to send the new subscribers emails of all the new blogs.  I am working on growing their audience …

Surround yourself with a supportive team!

A few years ago, I began to attend my local MeetUp.  Initially it was odd.  I was use to attending my local watering hole (coffee shop), when I began getting stir crazy sitting in my office.  I began to meet other web designer and developers.  It is a great feeling to share solutions, and war and success stories.

I am taking the next step by increasing my accountability within the WordPress community.  I have worked as a volunteer at my local WordCamp.  I have worked as an Organizer at my local WordCamp.  I have been a speaker at my local WordCamp.  Now I am speaking at a WordCamp, which is not in my area.

Keep pressing the learning button…

I am always looking to turn someone’s “problem into an opportunity for myself”.  Sometimes learning is really about adjusting to the next situation, how do you present a solution to that situation?  How do you find out other options?  Do you know how to get the most out of Goggle?

As I continue to learn my craft, I am always encourage to learn a little more each day.  Whether it is a new plugin or theme.  Or finding a new solution to solve a client’s problem.  Growing my business is always a good challenge. Finding new clients or solutions.  Making sure to take someone’s problem and turn it into an opportunity.

If you are an Start up or mid size company, then I am available and would love to discuss your online presence and marketing. I can reach me at info@jdswebdesign.biz or 678-718-5489.
