7 Ways to market your brand
In the mist of Covid-19 (Corona Virus), we at JDS WebDesign are hoping everyone is safe, washing your hands frequently, sneezing and coughing in your elbow, and practicing social distancing. Over the next several weeks, we are planning on blogging about how to make your website more business friendly. We will have some tutorials on our favorite plugins and features, which will make your site more efficient.
While networking this week at my favorite watering hole (coffee shop), an interesting topic surface. How to market your brand? While it is an easy question for us, many agencies and freelancer struggle with ways to market their brand. Using the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Relevant, and Timely) techniques, our 7 ways to market your brand are BE CLEAR, BE CONCISE, BE INFORMATIVE, BE ACCURATE, BE INFLUENTIAL, BE INTELLIGENT, and BE ENGAGING.
Be Clear
Your message has to be clear. What do you do? Work on your elevator speech. Marketing and messaging go hand in hand. What is our message?
We are a digital agency, which creates solutions to pain point for our client. Working with start-ups and influential business owners or individual, we drill down to why they need an on line presence. Who is looking for their on line presence. Our message is clear and to the point.
Be Concise
Working with a small list of potential clients, our message is clear and concise. We know our target audience. Placing ourselves in front of them, is always our goal. Making sure our message is not misleading. Working with the best organizations and individuals, makes creating solutions a fun experience for us and our clients.
Be Informative
Staying active in the WordPress Community, whether volunteering and/or speaking at MeetUps or WordCamp, we strive to be good stewards. In order to be asked to speak, you have to be informative on all the current trends. From reading blog post to listening to podcast daily, we are committed to staying on top of the ever-changing WordPress Community.
Be Accurate
You have to be accurate with the information that you provide. Keep tabs of your resources. Share your knowledge with your community. Become a mentor to a newbie. Networking is one of our favorite pastimes. Not only does networking allow us to introduce ourselves to the community, but it also allows the community to get to know us a little better.
Be Influential
We are committed to the WordPress Community. You can find us #hashtaging local meetup events, and AWESOME speakers at WordCamp. While we do not claim to be the most famous or knowledgeable firm, making sure we are with relevant folks inside the WordPress Community is a daily habit. Sharing knowledge, seeking knowledge, and providing knowledge is a daily habit for us.
Be Intelligent
Intelligent comes from reading, working, and talking. We are committed to reading at least one book (and really it is two) a month. Most of the time, we will provide a book review. Not to give you all the outs and ins…but to provide you with some pros and cons. Is it a good read?
We have a very specific process…handling emails and return calls in the morning. Work on projects in the late morning to early afternoon…work on emails and return calls in the late afternoon. Setting goals (and writing them down) is a fundamental part of our process.
Be Engaging
Many have asked us, why we attend so many local meetups and WordCamps. It is for the engagement. Nothing more or less. We are engaging with our community and giving back. Whether that means speaking at a local meetup or WordCamp, volunteering at a local meetup or WordCamp, or providing a plugin or solution to a struggling newbie or freelancer.
